Hi Melissa

I'm sorry your Daisy isn't/ wasn't well. Ferrets get so many health
problems at any age so I hope your Daisy just had a bug and recovered. I've
had 2 ferrets who suddenly developed a high fever, were very lethargic,
could barely move and we did x-rays and blood tests and nothing unusual was
found. I can't remember whether they had antibiotics and/ or steroids but
they recovered after 2 weeks. One of the ferrets had another bout a year
later and it took her 4 weeks to recover. I never found out what it was,
whether it was possibly ADV, but when they did eventually have autopsies
when they died of nonrelated causes, it didn't show anything that could have
explained their bouts of this mysterious illness and no sign of ADV. So
maybe your Daisy had something similar and hopefully she will be fine now.

I've only had my Daisy for 9 months. The owners didn't want Daisy and her
father Nipper anymore when they moved... But Daisy had never been ill
before. I think most ferrets stay healthy and start having health issues
from the age of 5-6 years old. But I've also had too many who became sick a
lot earlier than that and died way too young. You never know.

Good luck with Daisy.

Ulrike
