Subject: [ferrethealth] Solely a food question
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I am Fostering a five year old ferret and am trying to get him off of
Marshall's.

When I first brought him home I fed him Totally Ferret only to find
out that he only eats Marshall's. I, for the first couple of days, fed
him only Marshall's which made his diarrhea go away.

I then gradually added Totally Ferret to the mix. He readily ate all
of the food but his diarrhea came back.

Now he loves Totally Ferret and would much rather eat Totally Ferret
than Marshall's but it gives him a very VERY bad case of diarrhea.

I know it has to be the new food because last night I just fed him
Marshall's and again his stool has cleared up.

Does anyone have any suggestions? His cage mate does not like
Marshall's food and so I am having a very hard time trying to keep
them both happy. Plus, I'd like to keep him off of Marshall's.

He also has adrenal disease, arthritis, and insulinoma and so I'm not
sure if canned pumpkin might work?

Before I get any kind of not so helpful comments, Let me remind you
that I've owned ferrets for 15+ years
