Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Ways to taking ferrets or a ferret a bath
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Ferrets don't need baths at all. Mine never get a bath usless they
roll through some poop or pee while wrestilng. And then it's just a
quick rinse with plain water.

It it's a dried on poop mess, I will first get the sink in the
bathroom ready with nice warm water. Add a few drops of shampoo to
the water and suds it up (don't put it directly on the ferret). Then
soak and massage the area that needs cleaning. Empty dirty water and
get clean rinse water.

I keep a pile of baby towels next to the sink.

The key is to keep their cage and bedding clean (weekely laundry) and
they will keep themselves clean. Never use those spray on body
perfume products, yuck! They do just fine cleaning their own fur,
just like cats.
