Subject: [ferrethealth] NOT - Solely a food question
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

If I get a vote I vote for a strong, vet-supervised, round of anitbiotics followed by probiotics or yoguart....

It seems that if antibiotics are cauing the diarreah to clear up then it comes back when the ferret is not taking the antibiotics that you have a chronic infection... gotta knock it out or otherwise control it to get rid of the bad bacteria/diarreah, then try to establish good bacteria.

Do good and bad bacteria (good and bad for our bodies) destroy each other? Could there be a bacterial infection where the bacteria was killing off the disgestive aiding bacteria leaving one with diarreah?

Also I wonder if a check for insulinoma might be in order... (an unsubstantiated thought).
