Ferrets do have a higher body temp. They are not very tolerant of high temperatures. Remember, they do not perspire and wear a fur coat year round. Since he is eating, drinking and his poops look normal, the lethargy may just be heat related. Be sure he gets fresh water everyday and monitor his intake. Mine drink a lot more in the summertime even though the house is air-conditioned.

If it is a high heat and humidity day and your home is not air conditioned, a reusable freeze packet secured in a towel should be added to his "sleeping Quarters". We keep the house temp here in summertime between 68 and 74 degrees depending on outside heat and humidity.
Hope he is soon back to his old self.
