If there are complications then meds may be needed.

Subcutaneous or sometimes IV hydration may be needed by some who dehydrate too
extremely.

Finger feed or spoon feed very plain meat based foods with added water in them. Cooked
egg, heavy on the yolks, can also be useful as having highly accessible amino acids
though the results are especially stinky.

This is an EXCELLENT and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED vet write-up. It is a little long in the
tooth but still applicable.
http://www.afip.org/consultation/vetpath/ferrets/ECE/ECE.html
and it has useful links including one on feeding these ferrets

When it hit here a/d was an incredibly useful food for all of our crew alive, and these days
I suspect that Carnivore Care would also be a well balanced food source that could help.

ECE itself is caused by a coronavirus so antibiotics won't tackle it. (The coronavirus has
been genetically mapped out and you can see the abstract on that in the FHL Archives:
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/

If there is ECE remember that the affected ferrets will continue to shed the virus after they
look fine. Stay away from ferrets for about 8 months. We didn't even go into pet stores
for a year to be safest and not infect any others. That is when we began using mail order
for ferret supplies...
