Ferret breeding has a number of potential complications, so, please,
don't let cuteness factors make choices while you watch the
births. Sometimes the moms eat off toes or even feet accidently,
sometimes young themselves are eaten, some die, some may
have malformations, mastitis can occur, etc. The breeders here
can tell a great deal more than I can: skills, care and meds that can make
the difference between losing an entire litter and sometimes the mom
or having successful birthing and nurturing.
