With all having diarrhea you need to think of possible shared
causes, but know that one may be hit harder. That means there
may be food poisoning, a parasite such as coccidia, a short term virus,
maybe a longer term one such as the coronavirus for ECE (Have any
new ferrets come into the family recently? It can pass more casually
but an introduction is a more common route.)
Dehydration calls for veterinary care, and some of the possible
causes also call for veterinary care, not only for hydration but
also for meds to tackle parasites or bacteria.
BTW, if coccidia is looked for that calls for fecal specimens over
several days during the diarrhea, and both genera that ferrets
get have to be looked for not just the more common genus of
coccidia.
