One of my ferrets had black, tarry poo when he was dealing with ulcers. He
lost a lot of weight quickly, wouldn't eat, and would grind his teeth when
he did try and eat something, was lethargic, etc. The ulcer treatments
helped him quite a bit.
Also, before he was given the ulcer diagnosis, his labs were completely
messed up. Blood sugar WAY high, liver values off (due to the weight loss),
and the vet thought he might be having kidney failure. But again.... once
the ulcer treatment was started and he began eating (we had to force feed
Bob Church's chicken gravy recipe, without the bones and eggshells per the
vet)..... everything started to change and his blood work returned to
normal.

I had no idea that ulcers and their not eating, etc. could throw things off
to that extend, but it did in a HUGE way. We actually thought we were going
to lose him, it was so bad.

Ulcers..... just a thought. Symptoms match my Boo Boo's when he had them.
