First thought, Pepto-Bismol will cause black tarry stools, it is the
bismuth in the Pepto that does it. I would try 1/2 teaspoon of
pumpkin pie filling...pure pumpkin, not with sugar in it. I am
dealing with diarrhea in my insulinoma girl and the pumpkin clears it
up the same day. I would try the pumpkin before the Pepto and find
another vet.
