Subject: [ferrethealth] Adrenal disease
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello everyone.
I wrote here before when my 3.5 yrs old ferret was diagnosed with
Limphoma cancer.
sadly, he died 2 weeks after discovering the disease.

Now I turn to you, after my other ferret, 3 yrs old, was diagnosed 2
days ago with Adrenal disease.
In her 3rd ultrasound this year (after the other 2 were ok), we saw
that the right adrenal was enlarged (1.5cms length).
also, the side (or wall, i don't know how to say it in English) of her
stomach is a bit thick, the liver is a bit greasy (or fatty), there
might be a stone in her bladder.

the only sighed is that she is very slim - 540 grams. and also, we did
a urine stick, and there was blood and protein in her urine. We don't
know why, yet.

Other than that, she is perfectly ok. She eats ok, her body wastes are
ok, no bald spots on her body.

The vet suggested lupron shots (I think that's the name) once a month.
He thinks that surgery is too risky and said that there aren't enough
studies in the world that shows surgery is the answer for this disease.
We took a culture from her blutter. still waiting for the results.

Maybe some of you can tell me your story, your experience, with the
disease?

Thank you,
Ayelet from Israel.
