Subject: [ferrethealth] ferret behavior change - my fuzzie seems to be sick
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

The first of June I sent a note asking for help on my sick fuzzie. He
had a decrease in stool one week then became lethargic soon after.
Here is an update for Gail & Jimi that replied back as to what it may
be. I found two good exotic vets in my area. One was able to perform
a barium test and produce some great x-rays. We found some suspect
areas, that helped us determine what treatmenst he may need. We also
sent off for some blood tests as well. I was then referred on to
another great vet in Kettering, OH because my vet felt he would be
better equiped as they saw way more ferrets then her. Here we started
treatment for 3 types of stomach bacteria. Frank had his visit on 6/16.
He is on about 6 meds but after 2 weeks we are finally seeing some
improvement. Since administering meds to my fuzzy was about impossible
I opted to board him at the vets where he could have a better chance.
I visited him every day but Sunday's as they were closed. I'm ready to
bring him home and attempt the next week or two administering his meds
myself. Monday 7/7 will be his homecoming. I am hopefull that he will
continue to improve. I am just thankful that I was able to locate two
great exotic vets in my area.
