Dear Jody:
You can find out about chordomas on my site at
http://www.afip.org/ferrets - the short answer is that it needs to come
off (it does infiltrate bone and cause pain), but it is in a great
place. He'll just have a slightly smaller tail.
Can it wait for 3 weeks until you get back - sure, but let's remove it
soon after that.
