Sometimes they get a little 'spoiled' when being syringe fed. This has happened to us a couple of times. What we did was try to transition from syringe to bowl by making the food more of a soup consistency and heating it a little in the microwave to increase the aroma. Just don't overheat it. Then we put the ferret on our lap with the bowl, let him/her lick some soup off of our finger for a while, then transition from the finger to the bowl. All of this was in our lap. Eventually, after eating from the bowl in our lap, we finally got them to go straight to eating from the bowl on the floor. This may take a few tries, so be patient. You may also want to add a little ferretone and/or ferretvite to the soup to make it a little more appealing.
