yes, the birdseed-looking poo means he is not digesting the food.

are you still giving the carafate (generic is sulcrafate)??

if this little one has developed ibd, which can happen after a long-
term and/or serious infection, then the carafate will kind of be a
permanant thing - especially when he's having a bad bout of it.

i took in rescues and one had the seedy poo and it would come and
go. we (the vet and i) thought it was just him getting adjusted to
the new home. when it didn't go away, i switched the kibble to just
the red meat stuff (evo brand, don't know if you can get it there)
and made the gravy with turkey only. so, no chicken which can be an
irritant.

i've also given lamb and rabbit and duck (either cooked it myself or
bought the evo canned 95% meat).

it took a couple of months to completely clear out (would be good
for a week or so and then the seedy stuff again for a couple of
days) - it did get back to consistantly being normal though.

i also give him the carafate and he's been on a couple of courses of
antibiotics (amoxi and metrodiazonole - which he just would NOT
take, so barely any of that one, actually). hasn't had any meds
other than the carafate for almost 6 months now and he's doing
well. still has some loose stools occassionally - then i just add
in some pumpkin for a few days and make sure to give the carafate at
least twice a day, also, and he's back on track.
