Subject: [ferrethealth] Slippery Elm

I am looking into trying Slippery Elm for my ferret who we suspect IBD and has been having ongoing diarhea. We are treating with a vet but want to look into herbal remedies also as our ferret has been on many prescription meds and the problem continues.
When searching I found the Slippery Elm Bark Powder and the Slippery Elm Tincture liquid. I was wondering what others use. It seems that the powder is less expensive, but I'm not sure if its the same thing as or as effective as the tincture.
