In case you can't find it in the bulk section...I have used slippery elm as well to assist my ferret with ECE and IBD in the past and it is really easy if you buy it in the pill form from the herbal section of a health or grocery store. Just soak it in a little warm water for a few minutes and I have used it mixed in a syringe for feeding with the ferret soup mix I make. It was really a godsend for my Little Bear when he was really sick and given prior to feeding my soup mix assisted him to want to eat independently by coating his throat and stomache.
