Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Lower Canine Tooth
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

We had Scamp who had what we called an "Elvis sneer". When he was a
baby the lower canine jutted up into the upper lip and caused rednesss
and swelling for awhile. Our vet examined him and said as long as he
was eating well to just watch it for awhile. He was concerned pulling
it would cause more pain than the jutting tooth was. We did monitor it
and eventually the upper lip adjusted well. Scamp would have done
Elvis proud.

I think treatment depends on how much damage the canine is doing to the
upper lip, if it is painful and if it affects eating.
