I really appreciate all of these answers and don't mean to be speaking out
of turn or sounding defensive - this is just clarification: I keep my
ferrets confined to one room, but there are a couple of pieces of furniture
that they can ferret things away behind. When I've given Marilyn pieces of
broccoli or peach I make absolutely sure that it is not big enough to take
anywhere. Smaller than my pinkie fingernail is my rule - I don't need
fruitflies attracted by some abandoned stash. Tiny pieces, although I am
completely getting it that even those might be detrimental.

As to what might have changed with ME, that is a wonderful suggestion to
pursue and not uninteresting - I am recovering from breast cancer. Hmm. I
hope that it isn't another distraction - she didn't like me when I had it
but now that I am cancer free? ACK - I'm still kind of stuck on the
possibility that something has changed with the actual ferret although I
recognize that I could be in denial.

Has anyone heard of ferrets trying to get something from feet (actually tops
of feet and ankles and lower calves) that signifies that they aren't it
getting from the food?
