Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Licking my feet - vitamin deficiency?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

whatever medications you have been or are still taking - that you
hadn't been taking prior to your diagnosis - could be causing her to
react and that is why she is doing the excessive licking and it's
your feet because that is what is so easily accessible to her :)

if this behaviour corresponds directly with your medical situation,
then that's probably it.

still, for her age, i'd look at some other things, too. excessive
grooming is a sign of adrenal. is she losing fur? especially at
the base of the tail? drinking more and peeing more? losing weight
even though she is still eating?

if you can answer yes to any of these questions, i'd think about
getting her in to the vet for a check-up.

if no, then i'd monitor her behaviour and see if it changes once
you're done with your meds.

it could even be something as simple as she's just licking the
excess salts off of your skin (you may have more being excreted now
due to the meds you've been on).

as for the vegy/fruit thing...definitely a big no. you're playing
with fire there - she could so easily get a blockage. i'd give some
plain vaseline daily (1/2 teaspoon) for the next couple of weeks to
make sure everything she's had recently passes through. and, of
course, no more fruit/vegy as treats.

she could use a better quality kibble too...

ot - hope the cancer was found early and that you're free of it now!
