Many things can happen to a ferret that has crushing injuries.
Broken or cracked ribs, bruised or ruptured internal organs, internal hemorrhaging.

I have a tiny ferret that managed to become tightly wedged between the back rungs of a wood chair. When I found her she was barely breathing, it took several more minutes before I was able to break the chair enough to free her. She was limp and her gums were blue.

I rushed her to my vet.
She x-rayed to look for any broken ribs, collecting fluids around heart/lungs.

Blood pressure was checked, as was oxygen level, heart rate

My ferret seemed to be OK, however my vet and her excellent techs monitored her for several hours just in case.

So yes, a lot of internal injuries may have happened and should have been seen by your vet, even as a emergency.
I do hope your little one checks out OK.
