Subject: [ferrethealth] Recently very concerned about canine distemper
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Every year there seems to be canine distemper breakouts in the Houston, TX =
area. I have asked several vet techs about distance the virus is thought (I=
doubt "known" is known) to travel on air currents and how long the virus l=
ives outside a host animal. I've been told distances of a few hundred feet =
to many miles and that the virus lives only=A0a couple of hours outside of =
a host. But no one is sure about their answers.

Does anyone here know?
