""Hello everyone
I wrote here at the beginning of the month, when I discovered (by
ultra-sound) that my 3yrs old ferret has adrenal disease (right adrenal)

I am from Israel and there are 3 experts in ferrets here.
2 of them suggested to begin with a max dose of steroids (and
gradually get to the minimum dose) and later on give Lupron shot or 2
shots every month.

My ferret is now on steroids for 3 weeks (and also on hypoallergenic
food).
At the begging of the month she weighted 540-540 grams. now she is at
the lowest point so far - 495 grams!!!
She is going to get her first shot of Lupron at the begging of next week.""

Steroids are not used in treating adrenal disease.
It's my guess that if she's been on these steroids for a while, that
her tummy is getting upset; steroids tend to do that without a bufer
meds.
Here in the US they are mainly used to reduce inflamation of a
different variety, and to increase blood sugar production as in
treating Insulinoma.
Suprelorin, is the med available in your area I believe; not yet
aavailable in the USA, But used widely in Europe.
Here is an excellent starting point for your Vets and yourself:
