Hi,
For my ferrets bedding I use a bag of my boyfriends old clothes he was going to throw away. I took the bag and took any buttons or anything like that and then in the bottom of their cage I just throw in some of his old clothes. They seem to like it. They constantly move the clothes around and stuff. One night Clyde drug a t-shirt to the litter box, laid in the litter box, and pulled the shirt over him like a blanket. It would have been very cute except for the fact that he was sleeping in poop!!
I have also used towels as bedding. Basicallly the same thing, just throw a bunch of towels in the bottom of the cage so that it covers the floor. They like that as well.
Good luck!!

Hi,

A few days back I noticed one of my kidz had pooped in the corner and
it had a lot of red fuzz in it. I immediately recognized what it was
and which cage the bedding was in. Two ferrets share that particular
cage, so I don't know whose eating the bedding, exactly. Also, I had
given them their 'maintenance' dosage of ferret lax that day.

Today I found a bit of vomit...with more hammock fuzz in it.

I know the ferrets in that cage 'fluff' their hammocks bald in no
time, and they're thick, well-made hammocks.

The other question is... IS there safer bedding, stuff they can't
easily shread and eat, even accidentally?

Thanks.

Ella
