Hi Everyone,
I read every post and it just saddens me how many ferrets get ill an
I know first-hand how very expensive their vet bills can be. I was
referred by my vet to look into pet health care insurance. Anyways,it
sounds really great and it might be something you would be interested
in. I wish I wouldve known about it years ago. It would have saved
me quite a bit of money. Anyways, I just enrolled my ferrets and it
is only $12.00/mth. per ferret. Here is the info if anyone is

By the way, they have insurance for every species of pet and you can
go to any vet anywhere and they give multiple pet discounts.
I am not trying to sell insurance, I just want to help out the ferret
community so maybe some ferrets can get medical help that otherwise
would not be affordable by the owner.

[IMPORTANT Moderator's note:
Check the exclusions. Unless things have changed there are a
number of posts in the archives of the FML (Ferret Mailing List)

from people who found that all endocrinological illnesses
(ex: adrenal disease, insulinoma) were excluded from coverage
for ferrets in each insurance they checked.
Some others found that it could make sense for other needs if
begun as a kit but that for older ferrets the insurances they tried
considered most things to be pre-existing conditions so did not
pay for care.
SO CHECK CAREFULLY FIRST AND HAVE WHAT YOU NEED IN
WRITING AS PART OF YOUR POLICY IF CONCERNED. Hopefully, the
options have improved and exclusions lessened.]
