The amount of vaseline is not really important: the body doesn t take
in ANY of that stuff: it s only a transportation thing throught the
digestive system.
In normal cases ( shedding fur and furballrisk) i give once a day the
size of my pinkynail from the tube. But whenever a ferret swallows
some rubber stuff or other dangerous material, i d give m a teaspoon
FULL of it, to make sure that the stuff comes out and no surgery is
needed.
Vaseline or Petroleum jelly runs through the digestive system without
getting into the ferrets body, i mean blood or so.
So no harm done there.
The taste is pretty important to give it to the fuzzy: mix it with a
little ferrettone or veterinary omega 3 fish oil ( that is good for
them)
greetings, Joos

[Moderator's Note: make VERY sure to buy plain petroleum
jelly with NO additives, not the other things sold under
that brand name such as lotions or gels that have other things
combined with petroleum jelly. Alternatively, you can buy a
tube of fur ball remedy (various names) which are flavored
petroleum jelly.]
