Subject: [ferrethealth] Update on Drew
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I took Drew to the vets this afternoon. He's peeing on his own and I
guess enough because his bladder wasn't full. His poops are bad, but
he's not eating hard kibble, so he's got the soupy poopies. His
glucose was 83, and he got his Lupron shot, so hopefully that will
help. I have to take him back tomorrow after fasting, with no fluids
and no pred for a blood panel and to see how his kidneys are doing.
She wasn't too worried about the orange pee or red poops, guess that's
why she wants to know how the kidneys are doing. He's lost 300 grams
since mid May. He has had his spleen taken out along with a large
tumor, but he shouldn't be that low. Hopefully the blood panel will
tell us something. He still won't eat any treats and I haven't seen
him eat any kibble at all, I've even tried softening his kibble in
water and with soup, but no go.
So keep your fingers crossed that we find the problem and there's an
easy fix, which we all know it's never easy with ferrets. I'll keep
you posted.
