It is technical but gives a very good description of the two types of
mastitis ferrets are prone to and the recommended treatment. If you

the text, which I have and I'll send it to you.

It is unlikely that it is cancer from your description.

Fox also recommends that you may need to do supplemental hand feeding
of the kits with milk replacer.
