Since you have gotten three "guesses"......clotting issues, adrenal
hot spots, and an allergic reaction to something, I would think a vet
visit is absolutely necessary. I wouldn't start treating when you
don't know what it is.
You mention that you run a shelter. Would your friend surrender the
ferret to your shelter so it can get to the vet?
