How are your ferrets doing?
It does sound like you are very lucky with your ferrets and treat
them very well.
I would call the vet and see if he/she thinks it will come back
during the next shedding season. We don't know your ferrets as well
as your vet does and I think you should at least try to get an
opinion from your vet.
I would also ask about melatonin and propecia for the ferret to see
if you can treat it as adrenal.
I've been to quite a few vets who really don't use the TN panel they
really rely on clinical signs and to me it sounds like you have the
clinical signs for adrenal.
I don't think you meant to "complain" about all the vet bills but
just the ones you think are not worth being charged. I know how
frustrating it is to have to pay unnecessary vet bills.
For example, my vet insists that animals be dropped off in the
morning to have x-rays done (stupid, I know). As soon as they're
done I get the ferrets and every time they bill me a boarding fee
even though the ferrets were only there for a couple of hours and
it's not my choice to drop them off: it's the clinic's rules.
And don't even get me started on their fee to give the ferret an
injection on top of the examination fee and the waste disposal fee.
