Subject: [ferrethealth] Questions on flea meds
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I took my dog into the vets a couple of weeks ago for a problem, and
the vet gave me some Frontline Plus flea meds for him for 1 month.
When I got home, I ordered a 6 month supply for dogs that are 40-80
lbs, Odie is 58 lbs. On the next visit I asked him if I could use the
same Frontline Plus, only a smaller dose on the cat too. He looked at
the dog and cat Frontline Plus boxes, and said there are 2 meds in
them, and that one of the meds were the same strength, but the dog one
had a lower strength of the other med and that if I used it on the
cat, he might not be protected as much as the dog. One of the techs
said you could use the dog Frontline on the cat, but not the cat
Frontline on the dog, that it would kill them.
So I'm wondering if I can use the Frontline Plus dog flea med on the
ferrets, I've heard I only use 1 drop for the ferrets. Or should I
order the cat Frontline Plus?
