Subject: [ferrethealth] Melatonin and Adrenal Panel - Lupron and heart
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Allo
Nahum is showing sign of Adrenal with losing hair on his tail and also
starting on his hips. He has also small red patches, tiny red spots=20
on his skin. At his last visit to the vet,(9 May) we have talked
about the blood test for Adrenal, and also for Lupron. The same day
Nahum had a very severe bad reaction to vaccine, so I waited for a
next vet appointment.=20
In this time, since the 22 July I have given to Nahum 0.5ml of liquid
Melatonin(1.5g of melatonin). With no success about 2 weeks I gave to
Nahum now 0.75ml(2.25g of melatonin)He has now a beautiful thick fur
on the body but his bald spots and his tail stay bald and he has
always his tiny red spots on the skin.=20
-If his vet do a blood test for to make sure that Nahum is adrenal. Do
I need to stop to give the melatonin ? Can the melatonin gives wrong
or interferes the results ? How many time before the test I need to
stop the melatonin ?
-Does this test show how the illness is advanced ?
-Does exists other places than the University of Tennessee who make
this test ? My vet said the price is 350$ for the test.
Melatonin implant :
-In my aera, Ottawa - Canada, they don't do the melatonin implant, any
idea?
Lupron question :
Nahum has a cardiac arrhythmia. Can the Lupron be bad ? Also Nahum has
had a heart failure during a surgery (for remove a broken fang)... I
heard that Lupron can be bad with cardiac problems ?
Thank you
