Dr. Murray, thanks for providing such an informative overview for the FHL.

You wrote about the possibility of Lupron as a prevention method, but I am wondering if there is any evidence, or in the absence of evidence, any belief among ferret vets, that oral melatonin can be used effectively as a preventative for adrenal disease. I currently dissolve three 1-mg tablets of melatonin in the daily soup of our five ferrets, meaning that each gets approximately 0.6 mg daily. If there is belief that oral melatonin can be used as a prevention method, then is this dosage appropriate?

Thanks for any responses that anyone may have to this question.
