Subject: [ferrethealth] Help! They Quit Pooping!!
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hey,
A few days ago I noticed that Clydes poop=A0had a greenish-slimy thing goin=
g on so I started going through it and it had what looked like little hairs=
or fibers in it. I assumed he was getting a hairball so I started giving h=
im FerretLax=A0to help him pass it through. (He had a few times that it loo=
ked like he gagged when he was eating. This is also what made me think hair=
ball.)
A day later I put Bonnie on it as well, because they recently figured out h=
ow to get under the bed and into the matress. ( We have tried several ways =
of putting a stop to this. Today the whole bed is getting boarded up so the=
y can't get under, into, or behind it.) It did not look like they had eaten=
any of the foam or anything, but just to be sure I was giving them both 1/=
2 tspn - 1 tspn of FerretLax a day.
Well, last night I left my house around 5-6 and when I got home around 8 ne=
ither of them had used the bathroom. At around midnight, they still had not=
used the bathroom. Both of them backed up as if they were trying to go, bu=
t nothing happened. I then gave them thier 2nd dose of FerretLax for the da=
y. This morning there were still no poops. Clyde finally went right before =
I left for work, but Bonnie still hasn't gone. I figure it's been at least =
12 hours since she went.
I am going to keep=A0them on the FerretLax 2-3 times a day, and when I get =
home I am going to give them both Duk soup with Pumpkin in it. (Or would it=
be better to give them straight Pumpkin?)
So here is my question, if Clyde continues to poop 1) Does this mean he has=
passed whatever was in there? 2) How long should I wait before taking Bonn=
ie to the vet? 3) Is there anything else I should be doing?
Neither of them are acting sick. I thought that they seemed a little bit mo=
re=A0tired then usual, but my boyfriend did not think so. They are playing,=
and running around, and are still eating and drinking. (I have seen them e=
ating, but I'm not sure how much. They never eat a lot at once, just kinda =
munch throughout the day. So it is hard to tell if they are eating as much =
as usual.) I pressed on thier bellies last night and neither of them felt h=
ard, and neither one seemed to be in pain from me touching it. I didn't fee=
l any lumps or anything else either..
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!!
Ashley, Dale, Bonnie, and Clyde
