It looks like everyone wrote at about the same time with the same current tips, so there is
no reason to send more of the same.

Long ago there was a different approach, which I haven't tried but it makes sense to me at
face value (though without have tried it or checked into it I don't know if that holds in real
life). The people were getting large plastic boxes with high sides, arranging ways for the
ferrets to be able to get into them, then buying bags of the cleaned sand that is sold for
children's sandboxes, and storing the excess away. In the box they would put a layer of
sand a few inches deep, and under that some would put rough tiles, slate, cleaned rocks,
or those thin bricks that are used on internal walls. I recall a warning to not put those
close together so that claws could not get caught. The reasons they put those in were to
provide a change of pace and to give the ferrets a way to more naturally blunt their claws.
I seem to recall some who undyed aquarium gravel, too, or alternatively.

BTW, to keep ferrets from the risks of potting soil besides placing the pots in places
where they are hard to reach and supervising you can also do an internet search for bulk
marbles/wholesale marbles. Be sure to get ones that are large enough that the ferrets
can't swallow them. (Yes, some of those places sell tiny ones.)

Be sure, too, that your plant selection is safe for pets:
