How is the ferret now?

Compromised ferrets are more likely to have problems with
certain mites that can infect their feet, but there can be other
causes, of course.

you will find links to some causes of swollen feet in ferrets.

The scaling you mention can have causes from parasites to adrenal
disease to allergies to bacterial skin infections, with adrenal disease
being most common in past posts.

If the feet are still swollen, especially if more swollen then the
treating vet needs to see them as well as that scaling.
