To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Here's an update ...........

Finally took Rufus in to see Dr. here in Grand Rapids this
morning and Rufie is going back tomorrow to have the tooth filed down.

Dr. recently retired as the Attending Vet at our John Ball
Park Zoo. He didn't see the need to pull the tooth. He's said he's
done filings on dogs, otters, etc. with no problem. I feel better
that we don't have to pull it. The tooth has managed to put a little
dent/hole in his upper lip but that should grow over.

I know fasting is not necessary, but Dr. advised no food for the
little guy after 5pm, just water, for this procedure.

I guess I shouldn't say little guy ..... Rufus was born April 1 and
today he weighed in at 3lbs 10oz. He's whole and his
little "blueberries", as I call them, come & go. He's starting to get
a little stinky but not bad. He's still tolerable.

When I got home, I let Amelia, Aurora & Phoebe out to play and noticed
Phoebe has gone into heat. Phoebe was born February 15 .... Amelia is
Mom and Aurora is Auntie, both spayed. She goes in on the 15th to be
spayed ...... hey, I just thought of it, the date's appropriate ...
she'll be exactly 7 months old.
