Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: ferret unwell: foot, past brain abscess diagnosed

Thanks everyone for the replies. The swelling in her feet seems to
have gone down over the weekend and she is looking a lot brighter. She
has been out and about on the grass and is walking a lot more normal.
Afer her first bout of being unwell be kept her separate from 2 of the
ferrets and only living with one, when we tried to re introduce it was
chaos the other two started grabbing her neck and dragging her.
Things started settling down with them all living together, but
yesterday morning when my dad was out the male was dragging her out of
the bedding bit and starting to shake her. For the best we have
separated them. We have a big 2 story hutch that she is in, hopefully
time alone will give her the chance to relax and get better. We will
keep a close eye on her over the next couple of days and see if we
need to take her to the vets but as there has been a big improvement
over the weekend we thought we'd hold off.
Hopefully when she is fully grown and stronger we will be able to re
introduce them again, we thought this had all stopped but after this
morning my dad is worried it could be going on when we aren't around.
It is really distressing her she screams and puts off a horrible
scent. Although she will be separate she will still be getting lots of
attention from us.
