In the past I have had a few ferrets that had canine teeth filed down. But
sooner or later the root got infected and needed to be taken out. A root
abscess is a painful thing and I had one ferret where the infection went
into the jaw bone which caused her agony (to the point where she looked like
she was dying) so now I have broken canines extracted. I also seem to
remember that once the root/ pulp is exposed, bacteria can get into the
blood and damage internal organs. If I am wrong, please correct me.
