I know that cedar is BAD for ALL animals smaller than a cat, but I use
Aspen with my pocket pets (not ferrets). All my ferrets have cloth
beding for sleeping and wood stove pellets in their litter box. I
believe the pellets are kiln dried pine based. I have never heard of
problems with Aspen. All vets I have spoken to tout it as the number
one wood chip for gerbils and hamsters.
