Subject: [ferrethealth] Hind leg weakness
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My sweet girl Matilda has started to wobble a bit when she walks. She
started last night, around 11:00 p.m. It's not all the time, and when
she does it her hind end leans toward her left. She's alert, eating
and drinking, pooping fine. This morning she was much better than
last night but still doing it a bit. A little background - a month
ago the vet ran some blood tests for her because she's 4 and her
2 "brothers" were diagnosed adrenal. She's not adrenal but her values
are close to the limit of being diagnosed as adrenal. So the vet
recomended to put a melatonin implant on her, which she got, and to
crush one 100 mcg levothyroxine sodium tablet, dilute it in 5 ml
water and give her 0.5 ml. every day.
Also, yesterday morning I burnt a teflon pan (duh). Nothing serious,
it started to smell and I ran to the kitchen and got it off the heat.
But the house smelled, it still smells a bit today even when I opened
the windows yesterday to ventilate the apartment. I've heard this is
poisonous for birds (teflon fumes). Can it be that she became
intoxicated?

We have an appointment tomorrow morning, her vet couldn't see her
today, but I'm worried =(. Any ideas on what could this be? I've been
looking at the FHL archives and many mention insulinoma, I really
hope that's not the case, on her blood tests her glucose levels were
fine and also she doesn't space out like it's mentioned in many posts.

Thanks in advance,

Alicia and The Precious - Matilda, Mateo & Lucas
