Subject: [ferrethealth] thank you!
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Just wanted to pop in and thank all of you that have provided
information. I will be putting all of the information to good use. We
spent the afternoon calling a few clients who had brought ferrets in
in the past several years, so far no one has called back saying they
were missing a ferret. Almost makes me wonder if the ferret hadn't
been "let loose". The town I live in is small, everyone knows
everyone. News travels fast. Surely by now someone would have heard
about the ferret knowing someone who had lost theirs! If he is still
unclaimed tomorrow night at closing time I will be bringing him home
with me. And if all goes according to plans on Saturday I will be
making a trip to a pet store that carries ferret supplies and getting
some food and supplies. The good news is that he is eating well and
drinking well, litterbox trained and stools look healthy. Will be
defleaing him tomorrow too, with Revolution, because he has a lot of
fleas, and his skin is crusty in spots, which is probably from fleas?
It's kind of a yellowish crusty gunk. Okay, thanks again, I'm off to
read more ferret info. I love all the websites! If the owner ends up
claiming the ferret I have a strong feeling that I will be calling
the humane society telling them to put me on a list for a ferret when
they get one it. I've had a lot of fun with this one. But I will not
buy one from a pet store, will wait until I can get one from the
shelter or a rescue. Take care, Lori
