Subject: [ferrethealth] Clostridium
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi! I'm new to the group, so I'll tell you a bit about myself. I have
four ferrets that have all been rescues. Two boys, Bandit & Finley,
and two girls, Cammy & Layla. My question is about Clostridium. Layla
just tested postive for the bacteria, but I would like more information
about it. She is being treated with Amoxil for 14 days. What I would
like to know is: 1) Is it stress related? 2) Is this something that
when treated is gone? Or will she always have bouts of it? 3) Is it
dangerous to her health even when treated?
When I had her sample tested, the vet acted like it was nothing. The
few things I found on it indicate otherwise. Can someone who has had
experience with this bacteria please give me some info on it?? Thanks
so much ~ Desiree
