Subject: [ferrethealth] Pemphegus-- Thank you Ferretone.
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Dr. Murray, You may remember Chaco. Poor little dude at 1 year old
with the sores all over his body and the terrible allergies. Well,
he has been on the 1cc preds, 1cc benedryl, and .25 Cefa drops twice
a day for a year now. It keeps him from suffering from infection and
swelling but the sores still would come and was constantly shaving
him to keep the sores clean.
Well, I decided to give him 1cc of Ferretone for every cc of meds he
gets twice a day. His sores are ALL GONE!. His skin is still a
little dry and I will be bringing him in for a Melatonin implant soon
to give him a boost; but he is much better.
I have been able to reduce his preds to .70 and benadryl to .70 cc's
as well and the sores have not returned. I am glad to be able to
reduce his preds becaust at 2 1/2 years old his preds belly has
gotten so big he now waddles but it is a happy active waddle.
I am gonna be looking into Liquid Melatonin to give him here at
home. Does anyone know the recommended amount to start out with?
Having two immunodeficiencies myself one of which is Pemphegus; I
know how uncomfortable he has been. I am so glad somethin has
finally helped him.
[Moderator's Note:
Congratulations!
Note to those who may seek to try the approach:
because some meds, including Prednisolone,
come in many concentrations the cc (ml) amount does not tell
dosing used without also having the concentration (mg/ml) so
that the mg amount can be calculated. The mg amount is the
critical amount, then it needs to be looked at in amount of times
given and weight of the individual (mg/kg).]
