Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Spaying Questions and Pivot's choices: a female in first estrus at 7 months
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Dr. Murray informed me privately that the 100 mcg Lupron
can be used to bring a ferret our of estrus. I guess like the
other approaches if it doesn't work then it would be repeated
either 7 days after or 14 days after, or both. Not sure on timing
for the repeats.

The question may be moot. We might have a human family
member (who also reacts to whole males) reacting to Pivot
being in heat so may need to just spay before that worsens
because this is someone prone to serious reactions.

Another strange thing: I am someone who has a lot of hot
flashes normally but I find that I am having fewer and gentler
ones recently. That may just be a coincidence but i wonder
if it might instead be a pheromone effect.

Estrus is making Pivot more nervous than she had been but more
cuddly. She is spending a lot of time snuggling with me.
