Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Spaying Questions and Pivot's choices: a female in first estrus at 7 months
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Well, we've actually had a number of spayed ferrets
over the last 27 years or so, and haven't run into
behavior problems or depression or anything like
that from it.

In many countries most ferret females are spayed
and most male ferrets are neutered without
depression or behavior problems being mentioned.

Thanks to Pam Sessoms I learned that the Lupron
monthly to bring Pivot out of heat does NOT need
to wait till day 10. That's good news given the
allergy situation (given the person's anaphylaxia
history), so Pivot is scheduled for a Lupron
shot and then she will either have another in a month
or will be spayed in the next few weeks.

Wow! Lots of new info for the archives today!

Anyone want to give us all info about needs if Pivot
falses?
