Karen,

Are there instructions anywhere on how to do this from the tail tip?
The little rescue I've been posting about recently Sampson - turns out
to have insulinoma on top of everything else. I had him to the vet
yesterday for a glucose test and it took the vet tech 5 attempts to get
a sample from his toe pad and that was with a finer gauge needle. We
all decided the lance was too thick to use.

He jumped and cried with every jab. Needless to say we were all pretty
stressed by the end of it (Sampson and I) as well as the vet tech and
vet assistant helping her. I mentioned to her that I knew some people
used the tail tip but she had no idea how to get a sample from the tail
tip, and I couldn't tell her how to do it. She examined the tail and
determined there was too much fur and it would be more difficult.

Next time I'll bring some Ferretone - but it would be helpful to have
instructions on how to take a sample from the tail tip.

Thanks!

Tressie
