If a problem persists there is a higher chance that
there is a secondary infection which can require
different meds than the mite infection needed.

Be wary of many pet store products, especially
those that are for dogs. We too often hear of
such parasite preparations causing such bad
marrow suppression in ferrets that it can be fatal.
In fact, that is why we have marrow transplant info
in the separate FHL Archives. Use only what a
vet says is safe enough to use and if it is not your
ferret's own vet then place a call to the vet and
leave a message for a call back at the vet's
convenience to see if what you are considering
makes sense or not.
We've had to use Tresaderm for a few in the
decades ferrets have been in our family because
of secondary ear infections that posed greater
risks than the mites did, if I recall the med right.
(The last time was probably at least 15 years ago.)
