Karen,

I am also wondering about the angle and the depth of a puncture on the
tail, concern of course being the spinal cord.

The AlphaTrak is what my vet clinic uses as well. I had purchased the
kit to use at home. I stuck myself with it to test it and it was very
painful and there was no way I could bring myself to use that lancet
on my fuzzy. Its like a thumb tac - even the vet tech opted to use a
finer gauge needle, which took 5 jabs as it was before she got any
blood from the toe pad. I donated the whole kit to the exotics
section of the clinic since they didn't have their own, now they do.

Karen can you give us a bit more detailed instructions on how to use a
lancet like Meryl describes on the tail?

Thanks!

Tressie
