Thanks for the info on the adrenal panel...I just had my 2yearold
female to the vet...He wanted to do the test...$187...because of
cost, I decided to wait until next paycheck...then found out that
the test is not all that reliable...SUKIE...YOU JUST HELPED CONFIRM
THAT...and saved me money...my girl has a small patch of hair loss
between the shoulders and generalized thinning over her back and
sides...the vet and I both think she is early adrenal, so...the test
would probably not be accurate, Positive or Negative results. Boy,
am I glad I joined this group...such good info...

[Moderator's Note: Please, re-read. False negatives --
when they happen with the TN Panel test -- tend to happen
early in the disease due to the hormonal levels not yet
being high enough.

I have never heard of a false positive with the TN panel
test when people went in afterward and did the pathology
follow-up.

What I have heard of is people thinking the TN Panel is
less reliable after they did ultrasound, but actually what is
less reliable is the ultrasound (sonogram). An ultrasound
can ddeliver false negatives or false positives. Results on
surgery tend to better match the TN Panel results, BUT IF
THERE IS SUFFICIENT REASON TO SUSPECT ADRENAL then
just going to surgery makes sense]
